Tonight I was involved in a really disappointing conversation. An artist who had been tattooing my left arm posted the below status. There are many, many things wrong with this conversation. I am horrified that at the time that I unfriended the artist, 19 people had liked this statement. As many of you know, I am an ally. I have been an ally since I was born. I am also a pro choice, spiritual, divorced woman who is in a loving live in relationship with an amazing man who was born in Chile and moved to this country over 30 years ago. I also have many amazing friends who have different types of relationships than what I am in. I believe that everyone is entitled to the same rights. Period. This doesn't just include sexuality but it also covers race, gender, age, religion, disabilities, size, height, etc. No matter what we all deserve to be able to have the same liberties as our fellow people. Previous to this post, David and I have had a few conversations that I have enjoyed while he was working on my arm. When I read this post for the first time, I was shocked and disgusted. Those feelings only got more intense as interracial relationships and other subjects were brought up. Rage is the word that could best describe my emotion. I wanted to scream, I wanted to name call, my anger was almost not controlled, but then I realized I can only control my feelings and what I know in my heart is right. I am not going to stoop to that level. If these people choose to say and feel these things, that's on them. It's a total disgusting shame but it is what it is. It's a sad situation. He mentions my confusion in his replies to me. I am far from confused on this matter nor what my circle of control is. What do I have control over? My emotions, my actions and my spending power. I have made a stand in the past to not support any company, business or establishment that practices in discrimination and this will continue on. I don't wish David or any of these people ill will or anything but the best. I wish clarity for them to open up their minds and their hearts from the misguided hate they have. I however will not be giving this man any money nor to any one else who makes statements like this below. I choose to not support hate and I will buy that way as well.

Marriage is NOT a right granted by the state.Marriage is a religious ceremony uniting one man to one woman in "holy" matrimony. Why do you think they call it "holy" matrimony? It's religious! God commanded to keep marriage sacred and holy and between one man and one woman. The state only got their greedy little paws in on it so that they could make money off of selling marriage licenses because they honed in on it as a financial angle by insisting that people must have blood tests and a marriage license so that the state can rip you off and raise revenues for fat asshole politicians to pocket. If gay ppl wanna be together, so be it but "marriage" is the sacred unity between a man & a woman. This is just as offensive to those of us that still put emphasis on morality as it supposedly is to the gay community not to be allowed to partake in this specific union. This is NOT a discriminatory issue, its a common sense issue.

- Michael Whitted Amen D, I agree you should have the right to be with whom you choose. However, marriage should be between a man and woman. IMHO...even though I'm sure were going to get hated on for saying so. I'm not judging just giving my opinion...#Letthehatingbegin2 hours ago via mobile · Like · 2

- Samantha Tomlinson So you can be with who you want, but you don't deserve the rights that everyone else has?? smh. I'm atheist, so I guess I can't get married either since it's "holy matrimony". Love you little people inside that small box.2 hours ago via mobile · Like · 4

- David Gibson The "little people" with small minds living in a box are the people that are disregarding thousands of years of logic, reason, moral values, for a misplaced delusional movement over the past couple of decades. - Alyssa Janel CurryThirty Just a little fun fact: it's legal to marry your first cousin in the state of Indiana, but not your gay partner. I don't care who is marrying who, just leave me out of it and don't ask me to wear a dumbass, ugly, hideous dress. But I do like to party so I will kindly RSVP to the reception.about an hour ago via mobile · Like · 2

- David Gibson I think its disturbing that ppl can flaunt whatever their personal preferences are all over the place, wether it be gay, inter racial, or open non committal relationships, but I dont go with the mainstream out of respect for the morals & values carried out by BILLIONS over THOUSANDS of years & Im labeled a close minded, racist, party pooper lol....SOCIETY IS A JOKE & MOST OF YOU ARE BRAINWASHED, wake up ppl.about an hour ago via mobile · Edited · Like
- Alyssa Janel CurryThirty See, there's your problem, you need to f**k society and then tell society to f**k off. What people eat doesn't make you poop, so to me, they can all eat poop. I hate all equally, and treat everyone with the same amount of disrespect.about an hour ago via mobile · Like · 1
- Pepper Mills Wow. It is what it is and that's unfortunate. I believe we all deserve the same rights and privileges. You've been tattooing a liberal ally who is in a interracial relationship. Thank you for being upfront with your hate. All the best to you.about an hour ago via mobile · Like · 2

- David Gibson Thank you for being a sensible individual & exercising logic Izzy, I commend you, its a rarity amongst ppl these days lol...however You stated that if it were up to you to choose who gets married & who does not.....the choice, should be left only to the persons desiring marriage .....flawed logic. And again I have to point out my original post, "Marriage" is a religious union between a man & a woman.54 minutes ago via mobile · Edited · Like · 1
